PUBLIC MARKET

It's nice to be back in my blog.  I am now updating you with some snapshots from the construction of the new Public Market in Tanauan.  As you will notice, this project was started last October 12, 2009 and the contract period is for 270 calendars days of construction.  I took these pictures today April 6, 2010.  I hope you can assess if this project will be finished on time.  Contract period is for only 270 days from October 2009.
The building on the right is supposed to be part of Phase 1 of the Market Construction in the amount of 43Million plus.  Sad to say, construction has yet to  start.

This one is on the east side portion of the market near Real Street.  This shot was taken from the side of Piedad Street.

This is also from the east side of the market near the meat section.

Let's ask our current LGU officials on this matter.  As the Hon. Mayor Roque Tiu told us, the money is loaned from PVB. The guarantee for this loan as presented in the Feasibility Study is the INTERNAL REVENUE ALLOCATION OF THE THE LGU.  Everyone of us will be affected.  Just asking your opinion.

Right now there are only a handful of people working on the site.

I hope to update you soon on more matters.

  2. What is this that I heard that the reason for the delay in the construction is that the Municipal Government has not yet released the payment for the first progress billing of the contractor? What could be the reason? Do they really want this to be finished on time or not? Where has the loaned funds for the market been used if such has been used for other purposes. Ada ma election na. Panginano kita an mga taga Tanauan.

  4. IF THIS IS TRUE THAT THE CONSTRUCTION HAS BEEN SUBSTANDARD, THEN THE LGU CAN CHOOSE NOT TO PAY THIS CORRUPT CONTRACTOR UNTIL ALL THE DEFECTS ARE RECTIFIED! THIS IS ALSO A NEGLECT BY THE LGU BY NOT PROVIDING BUILDING INSPECTIONS WHILE THE CONSTRUCTION WAS ONGOING AND REJECT RIGHT AWAY THE SUBSTANDARD CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES.

IS THIS THE KIND OF PROJECT THE LGU IS GOING TO DELIVER TO THE TANAUANANONS? THIS IS TAXPAYERS MONEY. DO NOT LET THIS CONTRACTOR OFF THE HOOK. HIRE A DIFFERENT CONTRACTOR IF THE PROJECT IS NOT DELIVERED RIGHT AND DO NOT PAY THEM EVEN A SINGLE CENTAVO IF THEY REFUSE NOT TO CORRECT THEIR SUBSTANDARD CONSTRUCTION! THIS IS A LEGAL RIGHT OF THE OWNER/LGU/TAXPAYERS!
